Southern New Hampshire University is a private university located between Hooksett and Manchester in New Hampshire. It is accredited by the commission on the institute of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and National Accreditation for hospitality, education, health, and business degrees. Southern New Hampshire University is one of the fastest going universities in the States. It uses an open enrolment policy that requires only a high-school diploma.

Southern New Hampshire University has been accredited by the New England Association of schools and colleges since 1973. It is approved by the New Hampshire Department of Education Division of Higher Education- Higher Education Commission. The Accreditation Council accredits the university's school of business for Business Schools and Programs. The university is also a member of the Association of American Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and the American Council of Education.
Recognition and awards
Southern New Hampshire University’s community economic development program received a 2007 New England Higher Education Excellence Award. In the year 2012, Fast Company named SNHU the 11th most innovative organization in the world in its World’s 40th Most Innovative Companies edition. The Chronicle of Higher Education recognized the university as one of the best colleges for work in 2013.
Southern New Hampshire University students are a part of many student groups, including Radio SNHU and The Penmen Press (the student newspaper). The university also publishes The Penmen Review, an online creative writing journal for students and alumni.
