Program Overview

Electronics and Embedded Systems Development is a one-year Ontario college graduate program designed to build on students theoretical knowledge on electrical engineering and provides training on electrical technologies, embedded systems and computer aided design. Graduates will be prepared for the workforce after completing a capstone project where students have the opportunity to design, implement and manage real-world solutions.

Your Learning Experience
This graduate certificate program is designed to build on the theoretical knowledge gained from studies in electrical and electronics engineering and provides students with training in soldering / desoldering, component identification, hardware interfacing, programming for firmware and embedded systems design using industry software and techniques.  Lectured theoretical concepts are focused into practical, relevant skills through computer-aided design (CAD) for schematics / printed circuit board layout and electronics laboratory experiments and tasks.

Topics related to industry trends, entrepreneurship and sustainable technologies are reviewed and discussed from real-world case studies.  An applied capstone project will provide students with the opportunity to design, implement and manage a real embedded project using skills learned regarding planning, research, design of experiments (DoE), development and testing.
