PTE Test at Home
Well, yes, it is possible! Pearson has newly launched a PTE-at-home version, although taking PTE exam at Test centers is still the best option. The PTE Academic test is now available online that can be taken at home or in any private location. You can take the same test when you can't attend a test center in person. The secure test (PTE at home) features advanced id checking, remote proctoring and AI monitoring throughout.
There are two important steps to make sure that you have a successful online testing experience before you schedule your test.
- First of all, make sure to check that your chosen institution accepts PTE academic online and that you understand the technical requirements and testing rules which can be found on the PTE website
- Secondly, check to ensure that your equipment is suitable for the online test.
Rules and Regulations for PTE Test Centers
- Only valid documentation for identification should be provided at test centers such as Passport.
- The exam fee should be paid before the actual test day.
- Test takers are not allowed to bring their personal belongings such as mobile phones, calculator, bags, watch etcetera into the exam room.
- Appropriate behavior at the test center is much appreciated. Cheating or attempting to cheat is strictly prohibited and can lead to major consequences such as test cancellation.
- The candidate must bring their national ID or passport. The PTE exam center will provide a notepad and pencil to make notes in need.
- Any problems with the computer or any other discrepancy faced during the test must be reported immediately to the test supervisor at the PTE test center.
- No food or drinks are allowed inside the test room.
- Test takers are not permitted to remove any material used during the exam at the test center.
At the PTE test center
- You will be requested to show your ID to check whether your name matches the name on your booking.
- You will be asked for your digital signature and scan the palm of your hand
- You probably have to bring or wear a face mask as a precautionary measure to avoid any sort of infection.
- You can also bring your hand sanitizer for hygiene purposes.
- You probably have to answer whether you have not been in contact with any affected persons or you have any symptoms such as fever and/or respiratory difficulties.
- You probably be asked to wear disposable gloves during the test for the sake of hygiene.
- Please actively monitor the test center’s location and keep an active check on your emails as you will automatically be sent a cancellation notice in advance in case of any problem or delay in the exam date.
If PTE test Centre cancels or reschedules your test
- You will receive an email with an appointment or cancellation notice
- Your test fee will be automatically refunded to your credit or debit card.
- You will be able to rebook the exam with an alternative appointment.
Date and Frequency
IELTS test dates are offered upto 4 times in a month making a total of 48 fixed dates in one calender year. The availability of IELTS dates in India may differ for Academic and General IELTS.
Center and Admit Card
The IELTS Exam is offered across more than 50 locations across India. There is no admit card provided for IELTS examination.
Result
IELTS Exam results are released 10 calendar days after the test for the paper based exam and 5-7 calendar days for the computer based test. The Candidate will receive only ONE original Test Report form (TRF).
Score Reporting
A candidate may request up to 5 additional TRFs to be sent to the receiving institutions (universities, professional bodies, etc) within 1 month of taking the IELTS test. TRFs sent by courier will be sent via DHL and students will be charged accordingly. If the receiving institution accepts electronic submission of scores then that can be arranged through the IDP IELTS office free of charge.
