CUET Eligibility Criteria 2023

Taking a major step towards revamping UG admissions, the Education Ministry of India announced conducting a Common University Entrance Test. Here's everything you need to know about the test, including its eligibility criteria.

What is CUET?
CUET is a computer-based test introduced by the Ministry of Education as a standard test for admission into all UG/PG Programs under Central Universities.

Why is CUET conducted?

The test is designed as a single examination covering a wide range of topics, providing a common platform and equal opportunities to students across the country.
CUET Eligibility for undergraduate courses:
A minimum of 50% (General Category) or 45% (SC/ST Category) is required in class 12 from any recognized board.
Candidates need to obtain a minimum of 55% (General Category) or 50% (SC/ST/OBC/PWD Category) in their bachelor’s/ equivalent examination from any recognized university.

For admission into post-graduate courses

CUET Eligibility does not mention an age limit. However, central universities can fix certain age limits for admissions into all or some of the programs offered.
