All you need to know about Student Direct Stream (SDS)

Now that IRCC has officially launched Student Direct Stream (SDS) Canada in India, study visa applications to Canadian colleges can be submitted online or on paper. SDS has replaced SPP in India. Now, all the Canadian colleges and institutes having Designated Learning Number (DLN) fall under SDS visa program. This move is to hasten the study permit processing for Indian students

The vision behind the launch of SDS is to provide quality education to the deserving candidates. Also the SDS program has shortened the visa processing time as online applications are also accepted.

Under SDS New Rules the colleges have a tie-up with the Scotia bank, ICICI Toronto and a couple of other banks, from where students can buy a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) of $10000. This money covers the one-year expenses of the students and also qualifies them for SDS program.

At the time of visa processing the students need to provide the proof of payment of tuition fees for the first year. Under SDS New Rules for Indian students there are more choices in context of programs and colleges.
