It's tough to decide whether to study abroad or not. Once
you've given yourself a green flag, it isn't easy to decide the country.
Ireland is one country that is becoming popular amongst international students
these days. You must have searched about Ireland and came across the following
statements:
Make sure you change your currency to Euros!
Get an umbrella!
Don't forget to renew your passport!
Make sure to pack for all seasons!
Have I just repeated the things that you are already tired of hearing? This article will help you if you are looking forward to studying in Ireland. This is not your basic "Things to Know Before Going to Ireland" article. This article will help you understand Ireland a little better, and before even reaching there, you will feel as if you know the country already.
Know Ireland's history
You can always learn and understand a country better if you know its history. You will understand the natives well. Why the natives behave the way they do? What food do they fancy? How do they spend their lives? What are their culture and tradition? You will know this only if you understand Irish culture and background.
Climatic conditions
The climate in Ireland is humid and mild. Do not forget the unexpected rainfalls. You can expect Ireland to be wetter than the UK so, you need to be prepped up accordingly. However, you do not need special arrangements for Irish weather.
A good camera goes a long way.
Here is a short and sweet tip: Carry a fully charged camera with an extra memory card. Click more and more pictures. What is the purpose of being in a land of magic and mystery if you do not capture the moment? Make your friends envious by showing them the beautiful pictures!
Do not forget to click the picture of everything that fascinates you. You do not want to regret every picture you don,t take after you reach your home country. You can always delete bad pictures, but you cannot go back in time to take a picture you chose to ignore. The conclusion is to take pictures of everything.
Music, dancing, and gigs
Make sure to visit a place with traditional Irish music during your study abroad in Ireland. Find the best place, Sit there and relax! Listen to the music, and feel the traditional Irish music.
Irish music has this incredible power of transporting anyone to any place or time. It can make you feel any emotion. Let the music do the honors of providing you with a greater understanding of Irish culture. Let the music transform and take you on a journey.
Try Guinness
If you are in Ireland, make sure to try Guinness. It is the best when served at room temperature. It's also a drink to be savored and consumed responsibly. Make sure to enjoy the moment and the drink by not drinking too much. Keep a good memory of it. I am sure you do not want to be the one vomiting around.
Working part-time
As an international student, you might be concerned about the expenses. Working part-time during studies is very common as the earnings help in relieving the financial burden. Ireland offers students to work part-time during their studies. However, students can work up to 20 hours a week during semesters. During vacation, students can work up to 40 hours a week. So, if you are looking to study abroad in Ireland, this is an important fact you should know.
The Irish and Americans Share a Strong Bond of Friendship
There is always this misunderstanding that Europeans hate Americans. Europeans do not hate Americans. They are likely to be interested in knowing where you are from. So please do not be ashamed of your nationality; instead, embrace it. It is an "exchange" of cultures, and your Irish friends will learn from you as much you will learn from them.
