About Canterbury Christ Church University
The Church of England established Canterbury Christ as a college for teaching training in 1962. It attained university status in 2005 but remained associated with Angelic faith. The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, the head of the church, is the institutions' Vice-Chancellor.
There persists a strong emphasis on vocational training at CCCU, with courses for teachers, nurses, emergency service practitioners, as well as those employed in social care. However, it also provides a variety of academic programs across the arts, humanities, social sciences, business, science, and engineering.
Why Canterbury Christ Church University?
The university is being updated as part of the $150 million investment program. A new Arts building was started in September 2016, which will be accompanied in 2020 by a new home for courses in science, engineering, technology, etc.
Student life in Canterbury is enjoyable and fulfilling. Its building contains medieval architecture and beautiful gardens. People who are fond of old British pubs are well taken care of, and people interested in the history of Canterbury can go and visit the Canterbury Heritage Museum.
