Amount to be carried along

While applying for a student visa for Canada, the students are required to furnish a proof of financial support. This support shall show that they have enough money during their stay in Canada to cover tuition fees, return transportation and $10,000 CDN per annum for living expenses (additional funds may be required if there are other family members accompanying you).

It is generally estimated that the international students would require tuition fees between CDN $15,000 and CDN $26000 or more, depending on their school and program. This should be available to the student at the appropriate time if he is on an installment plan.

Some of the estimated costs include:

Transportation

As majority of the students take public transit, the monthly fee for an unlimited transit access pass is on average CDN $65 to CDN $90 per month.

Medical Insurance

Generally, the fee for the medical insurance is included in the application fee sent to the University and costs around $60 per month.

Spending Money

It is suggested that the students bring about CDN $200 per month for entertainment purposes like dining out, movies etc.
