Overview

Adelaide has always been free-spirited, free-thinking type of place and was named after the Queen of Adelaide. Its been first to outlaw racial discrimination, first to do away with capital punishment, the first to recognize Aboriginal land rights, and the first state to give vote to women. The wide sweeping streets, city squares and lush green boundaries make Adelaide an enchanting city to explore. And this is just not all about it!!! This epicurean playground boasts of world-renown major events, spanning the cultured and cerebral, artistic and gastronomic, and sports crazed. Meticulously planned by surveyor-general Colonel William Light, the city is an elegant grid of broad streets surrounded by a green belt of parkland set. The city enjoys a Mediterranean climate with light rainfall. Snowfall is limited and the summers are pleasant.

Adelaide is just minutes away from native bushland in the Mt Lofty Ranges. It is an excellent base for trips into the nearby wine regions, surf lessons on the Fleurieu Peninsula and hikes through the wildlife lair of Kangaroo Island.
